Headlights
HI all main beam has been turning itself off just leaving sidelights on and then turning back on for no apparent reason anybody any idea s

Sounds like the switch has failed. This usually takes the form of the plastic that holds the brass contacts melting and allowing them to move, hence the intermittent nature of the problem as it heats up and cools down. Darren

Out of curiosity.
Do you have an upgrade headlight loom or not?
I’m guessing not in this case hence what LRA has mentioned above becomes an issue without an upgrade loom. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

No I haven’t a upgraded loom do I need one are they exspencive and could I fit one?

I had identical symptoms on my Td5 90. It was the pink headlight relay Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

have read this link re JLR head light switch up grade mod using relay slaved to the head light switch to handle the load

Yes dipped beam but when I loose dipped beam I can still get high beam if I hold long stalk on flash
