Turbo Boost Pipe on 2.2`s
Have been chatting to the Land Rover Assist chap as he refitted the turbo boost pipe onto my 2 month old 110 today and he had been told, during a recent training course, that a modified pipe (hopefully one that actually fits!) is going to be available very shortly for dealers to retrofit. He said to talk to my dealer and book it in for the mod as soon as the part is available.

Have just had mine done. It is a new pipe, or so the dealer said. It has slipped slightly but still holding, unlike the previous one that blew off several times over a 2 week period.

However, tootling around the farm is no problem, its when towing or under extreme load that the trouble occurs.Quite frankly I am not sure its sorted yet. I have a couple of SupraClamps on order so hopefully this will be a better solution to the pathetic jubilee clips. Will keep you posted.

I had the same problem with turbo pipes on my 200tdi converted 90.

Probably came off 4 0r 5 times and I refitted each time, then all of a sudden hasn't come of since in 6 years +. Possibly they are a bit stiff when new and need 'bedding in' ? Not ideal I know but its possible.

Haven't had a problem so far with the 110 2.4 (fingers crossed)

If a new pipe is available best get it changed, is that just for the 2.2 or 2.4 as well?

I understand that it is only on the 2.2. I believe that a section of metal pipe from the intercooler was changed when the 2.2 was introduced and the angle of the rubber pipe connecting too it seems to be wrong - and the engine movement when running quietly pulls the pipes apart. Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!

No had time to read it, but TOPIx news section mentions a new SSM (Service Message) outlining the charge air cooler hose issue. Came on-line around Wednesday.

Zag - Yep. Just the 2.2 model.

Read it earlier. Not a solution but asking techs to report issues of this using the EPQR system. JLR are obviously now collecting some info on it all and may possibly try to fabricate a solution, or sweep the issue under the carpet. Let's see.
