Changed filter head now pump noisier

Changed the filter head on my 05 220K 110 as leak on the outlet pipe.
Since changing, fuel pump is noisier than before. Truck now pulls better than before pulling loaded trailer 5mph quicker and a gear higher than before on hills round here. What's going on always thought it was guttless compared to my 200tdi. Wish I had changed it 70,000 miles ago.

I think that's just common rails for you, my Peugeot can be noisy too after a change of filter housings. But the car runs spot on. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
