Does anyone have any experience with the coopers on the road over the bfg's,? what are they like in the wet ? how noisy?
(they both will be more than good enough for what I need off road.) I have the bfg's at present but I am thinking of getting the coopers on the new truck for a change I will be getting 265x75X16 Thanks |

hi cr,
i have been running cooper stt for 20,000miles and i have found them excellent, mine are 315/75 x16 (roughly 35" tall) i do a lot of off roading mud and rocks mostly and they have stood the abuse brilliantly. i also do quite a bit of high speed motorway running (70+mph) and i personally have no noise to speak of. the spare is brand new and has 20mm of tread, the 4 on my vehicle have 12mm left after 20,000miles the only thing which irritated me was they picked up stones in the tread like you would not believe for the first 3-4000miles giving that click-click noise and when all four picked up a stone at once it drives you slightly mental like i say it is only for a few thousand miles. would recommend them 100% |

KM2 i dont know about personally as i haven't tried them off road but if they are anything like the old MT then they will be superb but as you say noisey on the road.
We had a customer 2 weeks ago on STTs and off road they did not suit the ground conditions at all when compared to original MTs that most of the group were running. On road i dare say they are quieter than a KM2 but off road they were pretty useless compares to the MTs. Site was a mix of loose dirt tracks, wet mud, dried out muddy sections, river crossings and shale, loose dirt climbs. I've got 265 STTs and couldn't be happier with them. They've never let me down, and I intend replacing them with the same (well, maybe 285s). Peter

Have the KM2's on mine, had the old pattern before.
They are truly brilliant, they are as good as the old pattern in the mud, and as good as the all terrains, on the road. Much much better than the old mud pattern on wet/snowy roads. Also the KM2's are quite. Would not choose any thing else. Are the STT's going to have tpo change their pattern due to the new EU regs, like BFG had to???? I have read that the ST is. Andy |

i run 285 75 16 KM2's on my 90.
very quiet and well mannered wet and dry. expensive but i have read they do 40-50k. |

I now always used BFg's and Simex,, and after a easy lanning trip a few weeks back, and a Landcruiser on Coopers, I would not be changing for them,

do you really need 'aggressive' MT tyres?
my BFG ATs are very quiet and never let me down off road even in fairly gloopy conditions. do you know anyone with either tyre you can have a ride in to see which is better for you? BM52 |

IMO opinion MT's are the best allround tyre you can get. they'll do the road miles, grenn laning and the desert next year. |

you can only hear them as you slow right down 5 mph? i'll let you know when i in silent running auto mode

Having run several training days in the past. I can say that each tyre has its own merits. For instance I was stood at the top of a muddy turn on a steep slope (no I'm not the one taking the pic, I was the high side of the vehicle) In the morning it was wet, every make of tyre apart from the STT shod vehicles failed to turn down this slope, they would drive straight and then the whole car would slide sideways, however in the afternoon when it was dryer the STT shod vehicles struggled to get back up this slope and turn at the top unlike the BFG's and MTR's
