Well, good try
But, with 60 miles autonomy and 6 hrs for normal charging is almost useless unless your using it as a citycar. Cheers! Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Great to see but, as stated above, that range really needs to improve! I am sure I read in LRO sometime ago about a converted electric RRC, apparently that had 200 mile range?? Surely roughly the same would be achievable with a Defender? Similar weights after all.

It surprises me that having gone to the effort of converting the Defender, they've not filled every available nook and cranny with batteries. Nissan managed 40kWh in a Leaf. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Sounds like it uses old bits from a scrap early Leaf. They had terrible range, especially in cold weather, so transplanting it into a Defender was never going to give good results.
There's was a much nicer Defender conversion in LRO a couple of months back, but I think that was £150k plus the cost of the Landy. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

at that level they would have been better making it a "PHEV" and keeping the original motor up front........

I'd look at it as a proof of concept, but to start with Leaf underpinnings is odd.
This company claims 175-200 miles with an 80kwh pack (15 Tesla batteries) in a classic RR. https://www.electricclassiccars.co.uk/past-projects I imagine that mileage is doable as long as you drive like a complete fanny. |

I think that one is the one I remember reading about, range sounds what it was quoting. Still retains original gearbox / running gear.

Wonder why they chose the old Leaf power pack when other converters use the battery pack and motors from written off Tesla S’s? Pity that they didn’t make it into a PHEV and left the ICE under the bonnet Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

I'm tempted to fit just the power socket. That way, I'll always be able to park in one of those empty charging spaces.
