for a grand second hand, You're looking for a lot of bike.
For a grand second hand whatever you buy witll be bloody amazing and light as a racer. I find it really handy to be able to lock the front suspension from the handlebars that some upper level bikes have. Some of them you have to lock it on the shocks themselves. But that's about it. A grand and whatever you buy second hand will have been 15-2000 last year of year before, so will be brilliant. |

People are a bit behind the times if they think £1000 is expensive for a decent hardtail, even a second hand one
Maybe check the classified section on the Singletrack forum. Usually a good selection there and I would trust the buyers to be genuine enthusiasts. https://singletrackworld.com/classifieds/?...ifieds_nav |

Thanks all. I’ve checked singletrack and there is plenty in there. Steel seems to be the way a lot are going for a do it all hardtail, so something like an Orange P7 looks to fit the bill?

Carbon used to be the new go to frame, but most people are going away from carbon as if it takes a knock it's done for. (This could be a load of mythical bull poo) Depends where you're riding I suppose.
