We had a lovely week camping in Craswall near hay on wye last week and thought I would recommend the site here as it’s a great base for exploring the black mountains and the Brecons not too commercial and they sell lovely local cider made by Gwatkins in the camp shop. Also the owners have two defenders and are very welcoming.

They don't accept dogs
That's a shame for us because the camp site looks great. Thank you for posting It's always nice to get a recommendation. |

I expect they have their reasons. You get a couple of people who don't clean up, let their dogs run wild,
you would soon lose your appetite to accommodate them!! Not sure if this is getting more usual? I stayed on a site in Weybourne on the Norfolk Coast. They didn't ban dogs, but they were definitely discouraged. This is very surprising for North Norfolk. There are so many people with dogs, it is difficult to find a pub or cafe which don't welcome them. |

They don’t allow dogs I think because they have chickens that roam about and don’t want them being chased or killed. I know most owners are very responsible but it only takes one uncontrolled dog to cause havoc. It is a great site though. Andy

That's a very fair comment and I can understand that completely - coming from a dog owning camper.
I'm sure my dog Meg would just love to chase free range chickens. If that didn't put them off laying, nothing would. Still looks a good camp site |
