French/Italian Haute Alps tour 2019

So 3 kids, 2 adults and a full load of tents and too many bottles of wine hit the road to see the Alps in the summer!
In terms of prep, My 2011 Puma 110 was serviced, all diff oils and trans oils checked and received new pads, a new double din fitted and various comfort add ons! Including a sheepskin cover for my seat! Spot lights, reversing camera and re map (well worth it!!) was added along with roof rack and various storage packs for kids and tools. I was going to take a trailer but we managed to get more on the roof and in the back do was able to leave that behind. 2.5k miles covered both off and on road. Drove up a ski slope (low ratio) up a mountain track (1700M) and ventured into many a wood and river bed. No issues with the Defender apart from the bonnet catch deciding to not work and the wing mirror succumbing to strong head on winds on the Auto route. Bungies and gorilla tape to the rescue! She decided at altitude that she had enough one v hot day. I pulled over under some shade gave her a breather and we cracked on!
Felt like celebs at the various service stations. People actually stopped and took photos... probably thinking who are these stupid Brits driving around in a steel box!

Fab camp sites, great food, awesome weather and views and great a adventure for all. Where to next year? 60 110 XS -61k- Corris - For Ever....
