Very nice collection Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Just added a Cyclocross bike to my collection. I've been doing a bit of road and cycle-path riding recently, and realized the MTB is too slow. Also I have a 90-mile charity bike ride in October.
So I bought/built this: Click image to enlarge Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 Frame Mavic Open Pro rims on Hope EVO2 Hubs Avid BB7 Disk Brakes Ultegra gears USE Carbon Seat Post Bought the core of the bike as a part-finished project, and added a few new bits to complete it (saving around £1000 on a full new build). Fairly light. A full road bike would not have suited the riding I do or the place I live, but this is a perfect compromise, managing rough gravel tracks, but still speedy on the road My usual 40-mile training ride takes me around 3 hours on the MTB...on the CX bike I immediately shaved 25 mins off (2 hours 34 mins). Average 18mph. Pretty pleased! Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I've had a bit of change around since my last photos.
Here's my "big" bike, my Scott Genius LT Tuned. Pretty much standard as it's a big spec out of the box, except I've changed the grips to Ergon GE1 Grips and XTR Ice Tech Rotors. It was a 40th Birthday present to myself. This photo was taken coming off Walna Scar in the Lakes, hence why the seat is down. It's a pretty rare bike and was difficult to get hold of in the UK.....even if many Scott dealers say they can get one! Many of the European Enduro racers snapped them all up. Luckily I managed to get hold of one back in May. Halfords own Carrera brand, fantastic bikes for the money, buy it boxed and build it yourself or get your local bike shop to build it,Halfords spanner monkeys are very hit and miss and quite often ruin what should be an enjoyable first ride.I commute onna Carrera (Virtuoso) road bike for the past 2-3 years, rain, sun and snow and left outside at work.
BOT, I have a Marin North Side Trail,a mountain/trail/jump type hybrid thing,heavy but stong. Library pic. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

Here's my other favourite piece of aluminium...my 1989 Cannondale MTB, now rebuilt as a Tourer.
It's a little like 'triggers broom'...totally original apart from near enough everything. Rebuilt 3 times, only the frame and forks are now original, but they've covered over 25K miles, so it's got a real history for me...will never sell it. About kids bikes, get a Merida so much value for money
They are one of the biggest frame manufacturers in the world, making all of specialised's aluminium frames They buy big time bulk so can give good prices on build kits For example; 2 pure who sell ibis in the uk (talking5-7k) carbon bikes are offering a full build kit for about 1800 trade, you can buy a full bike from Merida with the exact same build kit for a slightly lower price, I.e. You can throw the Merida frame away and be better off... Extreme example but these guys are my favorite to deal with and I own both a Merida and a ibis both top spec builds |

Here's mine. Well, not mine exactly; the bike is on its way from Giant (Anthem Team 27.5) and then Ride On in Rawtenstall are switching over the groupset to Shimano for me. Can't wait to get out on her.
