All the aluminium box does is provide a mount for the Provent 200, it picks up on the air filter bracket at the front and the intermediate wing support bracket at the rear. It also provides a convenient way to armour the bonnet release cable and radiator vent, which are now routed inside it.

Nugget Stuff do make a kit for the Td5 but, unlike for the Pumas, they don’t make an improved airbox. The thing I just cannot find (unless I buy the Nugget Stuff kit) is a wing inlet for a 102mm (or even 76mm) duct. And the chap who was going to make one for me has disappeared Rolling Eyes Charlie

If I had a Td5 I'd get an Allisport air filter box.

In fact I'm thinking of buying a Td5 just so I can have the Allisport air filter box!

Things of beauty.

Wow. The nugget stuff and the Allsport seem beautiful, but not exactly a bargain.
Is there a UK distributor or another supplier that does a similar kit. UK
Don't have a snorkle, just want a better solution than chopping out the fan/plastic in the factory one.
I'd have thought Alive or BAS would do one as it must help.

There are various generic motorsport airboxes that may fit a Td5 but none that I know of to fit a Puma.

Nothing wrong with the standard Puma airbox. I’ve a 102mm pipe from airbox to wingtop. Covered by a snow cowl. Then a replacement airbox to turbo pipe in silicone. A vast improvement and the best non restrictive path you can get. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

I have the same set-up, water tight, from the top of the snorkel to engine. I also think it improves engine response too, but that could be just me justifying the cost to myself Thumbs Up

Roy,
I love your setup. I'd have just thought one of the manufacturers (mudstuff, Alive,BAS etc..) would have made this mod as a kit form.
It'd be a big seller in my humble opinion.

Personally I'm not a fan of the standard Puma airbox since it is awkwardly placed, has a fairly ineffective and significantly restrictive water separator, and the one way drain valves leak or fall out. With a bit of work and a decent aftermarket precleaner all but the first can be addressed, but, having gone down this route before opting for the Nugget filter, I know which I prefer.

I can now see the state of my fully sealed filter just by opening the bonnet.

The nugget kit does look the business , for now I’ve done as Roy and gone down the large intake pipe but when funds allow I will be purchasing the nugget .
I find the biggest drawback other than the restrictive intake is changing the darn filter without breaking a plastic tab !

I absolutely agree that there must be a market for another manufacturer. I believe Pete at BAS did talk about it at one stage . https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

You need one mate. It's so much nicer than that hateful Land Rover effort.

Probably my favourite mod. Mine uses the side intake with their 90mm hose but I will fit the 102mm when I get a chance.
