scraping noise
strange squeaking and grating noise when breaking hard at about 10mph only. also carries on for a bit after breaking any ideas please Sad

Drive it in reverse for 20 yards or so, if there is a stone in there then it might be enough to flick it back out again.

It could even be a splashguard broken and rubbing on the disc.

Im pretty sure the cause will be obvious once you get your head under there.

I once thought a gearbox was fudged having a stone between the disc and guard before now.

It once happened on an A5 we had, a few wiggly reverse laps of an empty car park cured it.

Taken the pads out and it’s still the same so I think it’s to do with the drive shaft ? Sad

Are the driveshaft splines lubed or do you have one piece at leat on the rear?

If check those wheel bearings whilst at it too.

I think most of us have had a stone in the brakes before! One I had years ago was a real sod to shift it really was involving interesting reversing moves as mentioned above! $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I think it’s the wheel bearing but unable to remove the nut, I have the big socket but won’t budge
Any suggestions I have sprayed penetrating oil on but the socket just slips of Sad

you mean the big hub nut?? I usedan inpact driver to get mine off. making sure you've un flattened the locking bit on the nut first or you'll never get it off.
