If you've only got a 12v output of some description from your hazard circuit or indicators, then you could use that to switch a relay which, in turn, switches the rocker switch LED ground on and off. It's not the most elegant solution but would be relatively easy to set up, particularly if you could use a solid state relay rather than a regular automotive one. Darren

Actually, thinking about it, you'd have to use a hazard circuit output, otherwise it'd light up every time you turn left (or right). Darren

How do you have it wired at the moment?
Let's assume it is: 2: Permanent Feed 3: Hazards 12V Feed to Flasher Relay - how have you wired this, is this isolated from ignition 12V? 6: Dash Illumination 7: Ground 8: nothing but want this to ground with the hazard flash only With the switch 'off' does grounding pin 8 illuminate the LED or only when it is in the 'on' position - have you tested this? I would expect it only to illuminate the LED when it is on, as normally you would connect pin 8 to ground. So, you want to create a pulsed ground from a pulsed 12V (either indicator circuit) - this can be done with a transistor circuit or a relay (only a tiny relay needed not a 30/40A cube). However depending on how you have wired it, your pin 3 may also be at 12V when the ignition is on, so this would give you a flashing hazard switch when the indicator you have picked to create the pulsed ground is on. The following is true:
2: Permanent Feed YES 3: Hazards 12V Feed to Flasher Relay - how have you wired this, is this isolated from ignition 12V?: No relay, just electronic controller which gets its power from constant, hazard simply provides 12VDC + as a signal for the electronic controller to use both signals (which are independent circuits) hazard are contstant 12VDC+ as well 6: Dash Illumination - from light switch 7: Ground - yes 8: nothing but want this to ground with the hazard flash only |

OK how are the indicators supply (normally ignition 12V) wired to your electronic controller?

Correct, the onboard controller decides how to distribute power based upon inputs ( RH/LH or hazard)

OK so your indicators work all the time, ignition on or off?
Anyway, if the wire from switch pin 3 is at 12V ONLY when the hazards are on (test with multimeter, switch OFF, indicators ON), then you can do what I said above. Use a feed from one indicator side to create a pulsed ground for pin 8. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
