sorry not entirely true; indicates fob battery only if it flashes rapidly after 10secs.
otherwise indicates arming state. |

Could it also relate to a weak battery? I've now had it twice that this light stayed on permanently. After a short drive I turned the engine off and this light didn't come on again after restarting engine. But the mileage counter was resetted to 0. Any ideas welcome!
Edit: 2015 Puma as well. |

Happened to me noticed after a hundred yards or so ,stopped the car ,switched engine off ,took key out of ignition ..restarted and it was gone! Hasn't happened again...just a glitch? mine is a MY2015 model . |

Did you leave it unlocked for a while. Mine did this too. The immobiliser comes on after you leave the car unlocked. I think the solid red light indicates this. Stayed on even after starting, but car started and ran ok. Light went off after stopping, locking and unlocking.
2015 model too. |

Had the same experience, reoccurred a couple of times weeks apart. Changed batteries in both fobs today red warning light not staying on - hopefully sorted. Mines a MY2012. It started with a kiss, never thought it would come to this. SIII CSW Safari, limestone, (JAC 914N). Where is she now? It's not a car, it's a way of life! |

That’s a level crossing indicator light.
(Not really). Mine lights up solid red if the barriers are about to come down as I approach a level crossing that I use regularly. It doesn’t if they are staying up!! |

Occasionally mine lights up if I’m driving along and the drivers door isn’t quite shut properly. A good slam of the door and the light goes off.

Even though I change my fob batteries very regularly since getting stuck once, this light definitely seems to come on when my fob battery is low or else when something is out of sync but a new fob battery always seems to sort it.
