Help with wiring diagram for an Aux socket
Hello

This is for my Series III

I have a panel I would like to put a volt meter (2 wires) and a usb charger (2 wires)

Also I would like to be able to switch it off so not on with ignition.

I've put a pair of wires to the battery direct and into cab in the dashboard area.

How do I wire this to a switch. Then the volt meter / usb.

I also have an online fuse I can add.

Ideally a simple as you can sketch please if anyone can help as I'm not keen on electrics....

This is what I have.

The positive wire from the battery should have the inline fuse wired in as close to the battery as you can.

Then from the fuse the wire needs to be crimped into one of the red connectors on the switch. You then crimp the live wire from the volt meter and sockets into the other red connector.

The negative wires from the meter and socket can be joined together and connected to the negative wire from the battery.

If you want the connection to last I would replace the crimp connectors with normal spade connectors and solder the joint. Have used the crimp connectors before and the wire often works loose.

Cheers

Hi Stacey. Do you want the volt gauge to be on at the same time as the USB ports are active or separately?

With that switch you could have either;

1) USB charger and volt gauge on, or
2) USB changer on or volt gauge on.

Looks as if you have a double pole double throw switch there so either of the above is possible.

Wiring diagram attached.
