Jump starter advice required. Amperage for Puma start
Hading home soon after a long trip away and I know that the car battery will undoubtably be compeltely and totaly dead.
Wifey WAS going to drive it a bit, but has the fear and I WAS going to add a trickle charge panel to the battery, but never got round to it.

I have 2 options. Jump leads, or battery starter pack. My wifeys car probably won't have the Umph to start it.
So I'm looking at a battery starter unit.

There seem to be quite a few makes and models from a cheapy £50 halfords 350A unit to ones that charge everything under the sun and will start a train.

Does anyone have any experience with these, not in terms of use, but in terms of starting a completely flat 2.2 Puma.
What size is needed?

Cheers

Cheers Rob. Decent unit at a sensible price. It's in my basket for delivery the day i return. Thumbs Up

Out of interest, how long has anyone left their car and it has actually started? I'm looking at nearly 8 weeks.

On my td5 I have gone 8 weeks and it started up no problem - on our 2.4, it was dead after 4 weeks without starting it! Trickle charger now used but the battery jump starter packs do look great and handy to keep in the defender!

Cheers Hank
Tied for a good old search, but didn't find yours.
Anyway Amazon basket is loaded and ready to go. Seems a very useful thing to keep in the car.

Cheers all
