I'm sure mine's limited to 82mph
https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/defen...atch-file/ At 80mph it feels like the doors are about to fall off, so I rarely exceed 70! Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I generally trundle around, my motorway speed is 60 mph normally watching everyone zooming and braking. Far more relaxing.
Was supprised, it felt pretty solid to be fair |

Like a lot of exotica, I think you’ll find it won’t go over 155mph, the caravan starts to get a bit unstable about the 150 mark.

I'm interested too - I tested this on a flat remote road, sat dead on 86mph and no more for a good 20seconds. Tried it later on a steep downhill, saw just under triple figures. bit odd as I'd have thought a limiter is not load dependent?!?!
agreed it felt like it was about to rip to pieces! |

I initially didn't feel much difference after my remap (BAS 170 on my 2.2), but eventually realised you have to press the throttle pedal further down, and then there was certainly a difference!

my understanding is they're limited to 82mph - the tyres are rated for 86mph.
like I say that's my understanding of it. |

My 2011 2.4tdci was definately limited to 82mph, very frustrating on continental autoroutes
Bas tune and limiter removed so now much happier. Maybe your limiter was removed with the re-map. The BAS 170 tune made a huge difference to my Defender and was much better suited to my driving style, so I guess that your Land Rover was tuned and the limiter eliminated when you bought it. A test drive in a standard one will prove the point. |

bought my 65 plate 90 approved used from LR but thinking it might have been mapped as I definitely can see more than 82mph on the speedo...

The first thing Pete Bell did was to check the ECU hadn't been remapped previously and updated all the software.
Who ever mapped it should be able to tell you if it had been mapped previously? I hope you don't feel you've completely wasted your hard earned? The BAS170AB was a total transformation, not just more power and limiter removed but so much smoother power delivery and far more torque, accelerating from much lower revs. James MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

Over 100mph, on a private road, of course.

On the autobahn last year en route to the Nürburg Ring I topped my 90 out at 112 GPS speed. Perfectly fine (Td5 though so only limited by the massive drag coefficient ) 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

yeah I think I managed to push my 300 to 80 and that was it, it wouldn't give me anymore, Might it took a bloody good run to get that speed! rave it up the gears going down hill and the hope for the best, that no one pulls into the last lane. My arse cheeks were tight mind, when I was coming up to a rounderabout. the brakes were not up to scratch either, so it was interesting. We made it though a lot of from people at the arounderabout though Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
