If you want the best possible finish then vapour blasting is the way to go. Gives aluminium casting that brand new finish. Defender 90XS SW

I would agree that vapour blasting is excellent for cast aluminium parts, I have used it a lot on my Series vehicles engine parts.

Thanks for the heads up. Does it stay close to cast finish? I want to replicate the original look as much as possible. m

Vapour blasting is not as aggressive as grit, sand or bead blasting, due in the main down to the use of water as a lubricant. If you know a local company that carries out vapour blasting why not ask them to show you some examples of their finished work. Defender 90XS SW
