Aluminium. Vapor blasting or hand finish
Anyone know what JLR Classic is using to restore their aluminium parts? I get good results with brushing but still wondering if I should get them vapor (not soda) blasted to keep them 'clean for longer.m

If you want the best possible finish then vapour blasting is the way to go. Gives aluminium casting that brand new finish. Defender 90XS SW

I would agree that vapour blasting is excellent for cast aluminium parts, I have used it a lot on my Series vehicles engine parts.

Thanks for the heads up. Does it stay close to cast finish? I want to replicate the original look as much as possible. m

Vapour blasting is not as aggressive as grit, sand or bead blasting, due in the main down to the use of water as a lubricant. If you know a local company that carries out vapour blasting why not ask them to show you some examples of their finished work. Defender 90XS SW
