Thanks Supacat - looks stunning!
Yep, that's confirmed to me that Keswick Green and Wolf wheels can't be beaten! I love the no nonsense, no bling look. I do quite like the green arches and roof that you get with the XS too... Just had a browse in your gallery - I was considering getting the same rear step bumper as you too. You have excellent taste sir! Thanks for uploading. (Thread hijack over!). |

Whilst the HD wheels are a no cost option over the standard alloys, they don't come with locking nuts. I questioned this with the dealer, as the XS alloys did come with the appropriate locking nuts. The dealer thought this was wrong also and said they would sort it for me. When I collected the vehicle the dealer told me and it was on the invoice it had cost them £75.00 to get from the factory! |

Thanks 22900013A - another really great looking Defender - I can see why it inspired you to go for the Keswick Green... This is torture knowing I have to wait another 3+ months for mine!
Supacat - Very good point re the locking wheelnuts - I will speak to the dealer and try to blag some locking nuts. Thanks for the info. |

Mine has now passed 38000 miles...no major worries yet. Had a bit of work done recently, new rear step and some replacement door seals, also needs some paint doing soon. 2011 110 USW

Glad to hear you've had no major probs yet... Out of interest what are the paintwork problems with yours - usual suspects such as windscreen hinges? I'm keen to know where to keep an eye on mine when it arrives soon... I'm armed and ready with the Dinitrol and ACF-50!

Um, roof gutters, bulkhead, front lower grille. The interior paint at the very back was never very good, only like a thin layer misted over the primer. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Taking it to the bodyshop today for yet more paint rectification and some other bits like water leaks and rust. Oddly after this amount of time I think I will actually miss it, wasn't really bothered before. 2011 110 USW

Whilst your talking about paint issues it's worth getting a decent torch and having a look here. There was NO paint at all under the lip of these panels hence the rot. I had mine done twice in a period of 12-14 months as the 'authorised' Land Rover repaint procedure does not include any rust preventative treatment or sealing, and the rot returned. Sorted now hopefully. Not sure of the rear configuration on a USW and indeed if you have these rear fillet panels though. May give some members the 'heads up' though.

+1 K9 - I'm constantly battling against problems in that area! Regular waxing and ACF50 sprayed up into the panel gaps regularly seems to be keeping it at bay reasonably well, but ultimately I will need to take the cappings off to sort it all properly. Contemplating doing it this summer (if it ever comes), but it's a fairly big job, especially in a CSW. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

The USW has the same cappings as a stawag, however mine have not shown any signs of rot - yet!
I can't believe I left my 110 at the paint place and drove him in some kind of Pergeot (I won't even try and spell it) go-kart thing...I have never been so terrified in my life, felt like my arse was dragging down the motorway. Have pity on me, the lowest thing I have driven in the past few years is the Defender, apart from a short stint in a Mini (again, a courtesy car). 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
