you might also want to have a chat with paul at west coast. he does the iron man springs and shocks too, there is a choice of foam filled or..the other one, cant remember which. they're cheaper than OME. if you have a look at the iron man website there are good explanations on there. the springs are awesome (I have the "B")

Well, I would still say shocks make the biggest difference to the ride, IMHO, CLOSELY followed by springs, making the difference to the handling.

I changed the rear springs first on my 110, and although there was an improvement, it wasn't until I swapped the shocks that the ride smoothed out.

I suppose it still depends on where you're testing it! Near me, the roads are bumpy, potholed and the surface eroded. On this, the shock upgrade made the most sense. On really bumpy roads and off-road, I reckon the effect of the springs becomes more noticeable.

With my 'custom' rear springs from Extreme 4x4, and the Bilsteins, I now have a 110 that rides well on road (although I'm fitting a beefed up rear anti roll bar to sharpen the towing ability and directional stability), without really impeding its capabilities off-road (albeit the ARB might limit extreme off-roading).

Then if you're feeling really flush, beefed up anti-roll bars.

Fitted Bilsteins on my 110 and the ride is transformed - Much more supple.

The fact that the OEM LAnd Rover shocks are £30-ish each RETAIL, gives you an idea of how much they cost to make! They're truly shi*e!

Actually on a landrover its springs that make the biggest difference rather than shocks.
