Us too.
The Ewok has been so good though, it can't be a bad choice. Heated steering wheel is a bit deluxe. |

Hi All. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.
I have Disco Sport, new shape. Does anybody know if a tow-bar can be retro fitted? Bought it in October 19, dealer claimed no tow-bar had been issued for retro fit ‘yet’. Getting urgent as caravan holiday booked for Easter. Regards M Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast. |

I have a good relationship with my JLR dealer but I don't always believe everything he tells me. If I were you I'd ring a few tow bar manufacturers like Witter (other tow bars are available) and ask if they have anything available for face lifted DS. Defender 90XS SW

A quick Google revealed a number of companies offering to fit a towbar to a DS, so it must be possible. Just an example:
https://www.towbarexpress.co.uk/makemodels...e=GU16+6gh As an aside, a friend of mine has just bought a DS with a factory fitted towbar and was rather surprised to find that it means you can't have a spare wheel fitted, as they basically occupy the same space. Hi LandroverAnorak. This is where the trouble starts as I have the spare wheel and also the 7 seats.
Yesterday I also found a local fitter and are awaiting there quote. If I have to loose the spare wheel so be it. I’ll carry some of the tyre inflating gollop. Regards M Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast. |

My friends' one has seven seats, so don't think that's an issue. I think you'll have to give up the spare, though. Much to my surprise, there is apparently a space saver spare available for the DS, so I guess you could always put one of those in the back if it's a major concern (or put the spare on a roof rack, along with some spotlights ). Thread revival!
In the never ending wanting, buying, not wanting, selling of other cars... I kind of regret selling the FL2, Mrs G still has the Ewok (60kmiles), though it did have its first hiccup earlier this year with the EGR, I blanked and mapped out The issue, so its all good again, I can’t help still being impressed by it. I’m running a Transit Sport at the mo (the pikey spec, with Viper stripes) as I was doing lots of trials at the weekends... now that all stopped with c19, I’ve found my pushbike mojo again and probably won’t bother with the trials bike... so the van will be going, as well as the trials bike. There’s a chance Mrs G may be getting a swanky company car, so the Ewok may also be for the chop. (Shame the ‘wok is so girly, because it really has been brilliant). So... I stopped by Angus MacKinon in Uttoxeter the other day to see what Defenders they had and ended up looking around the DS, I’ve decided it may be what I want! Are people still happy with their Sports, a year or so on? I’ll be looking to get an SD4 HSE. |

Hi Greeni. I was going to change our 3 year old DS in March this year but decided to keep it another year as it has been virtually trouble free with only two minor issues. First issue was rear disks heavily corroded ( a known DS problem). These were changed by LR under warranty. (Replacement disks are now two years old and no signs of corrosion). The second issue was that the engine oil appeared to be very thick and sludgy. LR dealer had not come across this before but changed the oil and oil filter. (I had always kept an eye on the oil as the DS is known to suffer from oil dilution so was taken by surprise when the oil thickened). This happened in the last three months.
My wife and I both like the vehicle. I don't think we will be buying another but only for the simple reason we would both like a change next year. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |
