Why the upgraded slave cylinder
So my clutch is starting to judder so I'm going to pull the box, machine the flywheel and fit a new one, just doing some googling, why is there a new slave that requires an adapter?. So far at 200,000km's the only thing that hasn't been replaced on my gearbox is the slave, so why is there an upgrade?.

Not sure Pat, there was an upgrade on the later pumas I think.
The newer slave has a bigger supply and a different spring arrangement.
Make sure you get the slave cylinder and the adapter pipes.
Also change the pilot bearing while you are in there.
I found the easiest way was a engine crane through the door and a sling around gearbox just in front of transfer case with a bight to the rhs a small chain block to the back of the transfer to adjust level.
Just be carefull as the engine crane goes close to the dash.
