110 insurance for 20y/o
My 110 v8 restoration project will soon be on the roads and have been looking at insurance quotes.
The cheapest quote was from flux direct , which is less than what he pays on a 1.2 fiesta but lets just say I haven't exactly heard the nicest things about them so is there anyone you would recommend?

Try forum Sponsor A-Plan at the Thatcham Office, always quote me happy. However, I'm not sure they're too keen on young drivers? If you don't go off-road LV are quite good.

Photos of the project would be great! Whistle Thumbs Up Bow down James

What age is the 110? I am assuming 80's if it was originally a V8? It should easily qualify for classic insurance which should help a lot with getting quote down, despite the age of driver.
Maybe try Heritage or Lancaster as they seem to be classic orientated going by their adverts.

How much was quoted if you don't ask my poking.

Mid 20s, no criminal record or traffic offences, two crashes, one not at fault, one still ongoing after 3 years £2200 annually with 9000 mpy I'm on IG: https://www.instagram.com/osloblue42/

you're right it is an original 1986 v8sw, i didn't think of classic car insurance. I'll have a look at them tomorrow thanks

I was quoted 1600 by flux direct with 7000 miles sdp with all the modifications. I've had my licence for around 2 and a half years, no ncb but do have over a year as a named driver

Try admiral multi car

Mods declared including brakes turbo etc about 1200 / year

Also 3 other cars on the policy.. 2 of which are performance and half the cost of the def.

24 at the time.

A plan won’t touch younger drivers

try brentacre insurance, they maybe able to beat flux. but for the record, 1600 for a V8 isn't bad at all! when you get that for a 1.1 fiesta tpft! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it!

its funny you should say that as admiral quoted me 1800 with mods, but I'll have to check if it's an agreed valuation. And also check if they would insure me with a bigger engine Very Happy

I thought NFU only insured young drivers if they worked on farms or If their parents were insured with them. I'll pop into my local brank tomorrow if i have time.

I do have another policy with them on a vintage tractor so don’t know if this affects the quote at all? I don’t work on a farm and neither of my parents have a policy with them but I do think your area affects wether they insure you but if you have a local branch I can’t see a problem.

I am currently insured with A-plan for my defender, all mods declared. (23 y/o)

They don't like younger drivers but if you have a good previous driving history (I have 6 years) then they might consider.
