Struggling with insurance quote
Looking for an insurance quote for my 2005 110 SW

Current insurers Adrian Flux have quoted £500

But l can’t find anybody else who will offer personal business use with agreed value on my 2005 110. Due to the big range of values (from
£5,000 to £20,000) on similar vehicles to mine, depending on condition, l want agreed value.

Has anybody got any ideas? I guess l will be staying with Adrian Flux but they’d biffed up the renewal price by a fair amount which is why l wanted an alternative quote.

I use Adrian Flux, for an extra £65 a year you can have an agreed value which is negotiable at the start of the policy.

I called Adrian Flux this morning and they reduced their quote by £40 but the policy moves from Ageas to Trinity Lane.

I looked online and Trinity Lane don’t get good reviews....guess l’ll have to renew at £500

Thanks JOW240725!

lightning give us a call for a quote on 01635 874646 and mention the forum for club discounts - That's the number for Club Sponsor and Specialist Branch in Thatcham as local offices of A-Plan don't have this facility Smile

Thanks!

Yuk 500 quid is a lot isn't it.

In the end my 2005 '90 came in at GPB155 2 weeks ago. Swiss keyboard can't do a pound sign ... Smile
Needed to sit on the phone a bit.

Way different to you as I didn't ask the value, didn't ask for business use and yet rather weirdly they classified me as a van (even tho the rear has windows and dickie side seats and they know that .. )

Point is, try to find a helpful agent on the phone who will manipulate the tick boxes on their screen Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz
Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ...

Aviva blew the competition away for me this year. 2004, 90, £14999 value, one non fault accident on company car. Fully comp. Premium was £195 with £250 excess.

I can’t believe you’re complaining it’s expensive I pay over £2k annually for insurance, no criminal convictions but a crash that is still unresolved after 3 years I'm on IG: https://www.instagram.com/osloblue42/

I ended up re-insuring with admiral, at £850 Sad

None of the specialist insurers would touch me (well, those that actually came back with pricing) due to a combination of 9 seats, my age, my postcode and who knows what else. It does seem to be more of a battle each year.

LV are normally very competitive and open minded to mods. James

JOW240725 they are actually an insurer we use - but not for our modified vehicle risks.
With many 'standard market' insurers some will cover modified cars/vehicles... but will exclude the mods in a claim so the mods themselves aren't covered - it's really important to check this when quoting as just because an insurer will cover your modified car could still mean that you are paid out market value for the standard car in a claim, worth noting if you've put a lot into your modifications
