If you drill out the rivets from under the arch you can take out the airbox, the feet and the lot.
The only downside if I remember is the wheel has to come off to gain drilling access unless you have some snazzy drill adaptors etc.
If you don't drill the rivets out be prepared to fight with the airbox base abd the rubber pieces below, the airbox has been known to break if not careful.

Depends a lot on the end result you want, if you want rid of it, to sell it or to remove and refit. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

I took everything out without removing the wheel or arch liner. I do think you could get to the rivets if you turned the wheel hard right, there is room.

Revival of this great write up in hopes some great mate can guide me through the LHD puma air box removal. I plan to drill the rivets from underneath as well as pull the cowl. But all I hear is nightmare stories on removing it without breaking it or cutting it up. Some guide would be welcomed!

No need to drill out anything on a LHD car.
Inside the wheel well there are three bolts that hold the steel plate underneath the air box in place. Remove those and from beneath the car you can pull down on the plate to release it from the air box and remove it from below. Then all thatโ€™s left is moving the air box horizontally to release the final two pins from grommets. Then itโ€™s a Tetris game to get the box out. Take it easy and you wonโ€™t even scratch the ac line.
