Hi,
Have a set of these sliders with tree slides on the 110, well made, very solid and have shrugged off a few good scrapes and knocks. The powdercoat didn't wear all that well though- he leading edges and round the jacking points had gone very flaky with 12-18 months. Chris |

I think mine are also these. They seem well made, fit well, and are very sturdy. The powdercoat was better than many but after several years is now very tatty. Overall they were extremely good value.
If I bought another set I woulx be tempted to get them blasted, galvanised, and recoated before fitting. |

4x4overlander do galv ones that are then plastic coated. Well they did when I bought before, and hope they still do as that’s what I want.

I'm removing the Bar steps that came with the truck and fitting some rock sliders, so this is good info |

I bought a set about 6 years ago and for the money can't fault them. They are well made and fit well but the coating isn't good and has mostly fallen off now. At some point I'll get them galvanised but for the money one cant complain. The only mod needed was to drill through the rear tubular mount and the chassis outrigger to put a bolt through
Having recently fitted a set of safari-equip ones from 4x4 overlander, the quality difference is noticeable in terms of the coating. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |

Hi Andy, I went for the black coated ones over galv. Main reason for choosing them was they seem to be the only type that provides the additional chassis crossmember that is standard on a 110 station wagon but missing from a hard top or a pick up.
The Dixon ones were a smooth powder-coat that scratched very easily with small impacts. I lay them down on the floor carefully and it scratched through, after one winter there were large rust patches on them also. The SE ones are a mottled finish which seems very durable so far and doesn't show up scratches. Given the price difference I'm still happy with the Dixon ones As for other differences the SE ones come with bolts and a set of spacers for fitting and have half-moon cut-outs on the underside for a hi-lift type jack. I think if you ask Dixon to make them with the cut-outs he would do but I didn't think at the time 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |

The rock and tree sliders from Safari Equip supplied by 4x4overlander are hot dip galvanised and then powder coated. Powder coating on top of hot dip galvanisation has an orange peel appearance rather then the smooth appearance of powder coating direct onto mild steel.
From personal experience if you manage to bend a Safari Equip rock and tree slider you will have a lot more to worry about then the R + T slider. Start thinking of replacing chassis etc. They do take a lot of abuse and yes it is possible to scrap through the galv coating if you repeatedly balance a 110 on granite rocks and then drive off. This one has been on for about 15+ years and has been tried and tested. Maybe time for some TLC Click image to enlarge Brendan |

I have no doubt that the SE ones are better than the DF ones, but bear in mind that the DF ones cost £95 and the SE ones cost £240.
You'd expect a better product for nearly two-and-a-half times the cost! |
