Nice looking motor, there must have been a bit of a purge on in 2002 at Lode Lane because my 110 has got very little evidence of rust on the chassis, bit of surface rust on the rear cross member but the chassis is fine. There is still some evidence of underseal in places and I seriously doubt the previous owner added to any sort of rust prevention as it was just one of many in their fleet!

Very nice! What's different about this limited edition compared to a standard Defender? An engine to TDi for!

I am beginning to think it must have been a good year too. It doesn't leak either!
Come to think of it, it doesn't leak oil either! |

Not much. Full leather interior plus xs spec, loads of chequer plate and a front "windscreen protector", otherwise known as a fake roll cage, similar to the tomb raider one
The canvass back has windows on the side too....is this unusual? |

I'm trying to buy a Black LE 110! Only catch is I seem to be third in line for it!
Originally they had a silver front hoop but several where swapped or painted to black. The rear good should be black with side windows (most seem to have now got later ones/ none at all). Your looks great! |

Mine was powder coated black by the previous owner. I thought about returning it to original as apart from the winch it is totally standard and unmolested, including the tilt. However, they really didn't look right in silver! |

I prefer them in black, but I have a spare in silver stored away somewhere!

I spent a long hard day today under the land rover cleaning, wire brushing and de greasing. I managed to put on the hydrate 80 and do some of the masking off.
The hydrate 80 is wierd stuff. You can actually see it working and converting the rust (or is it just hiding it?!!) I decided to strip back the crossmember ready to paint it to match the bodywork rather than underseal it. Here you can see the colour of the hydrate 80 when it goes on and it's colour 30 minutes later Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Underneath masked ready for spraying tomorrow Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |
