It's looking ok but the proto's are still wearing a lot of camo. I'm still reserving judgement until I get a test drive and run it over my route.

Not to mention getting it to work and putting it up on the 4 poster to have a good look at the drivetrain and suspension. The D4 (even tho this is lighter) has made me wary of the joys of bush wear. Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

I still live in another world.

A world where all this drip-feeding of Discovery lookalikes and yet another SUV to add to all the other SUV's, is just a giant con by JLR.

A world where they pull back the curtains in September and reveal the actual Defender replacement, which looks totally different to these images - and has been developed to accurately fill the gap that Defender has left.

A world where real Defender users and owners are knocked backwards at how JLR have got it completely right.

Hay, over here, can you see me waving? I think we are the only two here in this world.

I was there yesterday, and I agree with you Slidey, there is a big cover up going on here, in more than one way.

See what Sept brings.

Only problem with original Defenders going up even more is that thieving them will be even more profitable. 2007 90 Puma - Love it - Best car I have ever owned.

The leaked specs refer to the same P400e PHEV. It doesn't mention battery pack size. Which the have had the chance to design in and possibly make bigger than the RR. If it will do an electric commute it will encourage some more people toward it as a single car for the household. My doubt is there looks like an awful lot to damage when off the tarmac. I can foresee the hand back inspections at the end of lease being a nightmare for JLR and customers. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

Somebody on Defendersource had noticed chequer plate on the bonnet, seems the accessory book is ready to print!

In fact the whole thread on dsource is worth a read, they don't hold back.... on each other, let alone JLR.

Yes... so far 142 pages of a lot of arguing if the new Defender will suck or not. In particular there's a new Australian forum member there that's being painted as a "JLR spy / troll"

Accusations, insults and opinions are being hurled around, no holds barred....there's a different culture in the colonies... it's a Landrover thing...

Yeah Defender source is hectic, its " very lightly moderated" and thats not a good thing as there are a few trouble makers that dont follow the rules of the site like here.
There are a few good eggs for sure there which make it bearable a fine example being the previous poster here šŸ˜Ž
Ive been following this thread and sharing some of the info found on the AU forum for a while (my main forum), thought id say Hi and also say thanks to members like Naks and a all others thats post up new info

Im excited and optimistic about the new defender, will probably get a 110.

I try to play nice and stick to the facts, im here to learn about the new defender and share what ive learnt.

I drive an LS RRC.

Heres the checker plate refered to above Cool

Good to see we have some cross forum linking going on. It's good to have opinion from different sales markets especially where defender sales have been low / non-existant. Thumbs Up

I'm still fence sitting but drawing a list of what I want as a hard stop to decision making.

Price is gonna play it's part.

Offroad capability with reference to body design. (I.e Rear corners and sills) If not who's going to make rock slides / corner protectors in the aftermarket? it's going to be the little things like sump and fuel tank guards, again standard or aftermarket.
as I do occasionally venture off the beaten track >> and even my skill level will run out of talent.

And IMHO I just want to stick my winch on the front and the Penman on the back so, Winch mount and a way to get the NATO hitch on the back.

We'll see what happens with time Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

Been colabing with a photoshop guy to get the tubebar, bonnet, checker, winch, fairlead, badge, snorkel, muddies etc added on, after about 20 revisions over almost a week here it is.

Im not 100 % happy with bulge being so sharp and a few other little things, but it gives us an idea.

This is a preproduction leak so we still dont know if all the details will be in final release.

Maybe others can play with the colours see what looks like black or dark green or other colours or improve this further?

New render

Actually looks pretty sweet, few unrealistic things like the coils being shown so much.

But that's definitely the closest render ive seen by anyone yet based on what we know. I like it!

Wish they added the sliders and tube bar though Cool

I was very sceptical about what it was going to look like when images first started to appear but at the moment Iā€™m looking forward to finally seeing it. The front end shots I think look quite promising so far , not that itā€™ll ever be in my budget range anyway !

If you want to put treadplate on, I would think that it will be more practical to extend it like in photo below.

You're not supposed to stand on it!
It's just there to remind us of Defenders of old, when you COULD stand on the bonnet and wings. Whistle

But letā€™s have a poll. How many people who bought a Defender in the last 3years of production actually stand on their bonnet to load the rack or track wild animals using binoculars?

Itā€™s back to the ā€œits needs to be a hosepipe friendly interiorā€
