surprising what having no bonnet does to the view - what I do notice is that they have retained the side shoulder slightly below the windows as per the original (apart from Series 1) - on EVERY other car that this is done it is a styling disaster! However on this LR it works for me. I still like it. Counting the days.... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history) |

Nice SUV. Makes me think more of a mix of various previous generation FFRR than of a D4.
Eric PS - Just read the article and these pictures are still just an artist rendering, so it is not the real truck yet. So still can say that Hope springs Eternal. It looks like a Range Rover where someone has got carried away with one of those ‘make you look fat/thin/wobbly’ apps. If this really is it, I’m not happy at all. As others have said, either a cop-out D4 renaissance or the DC100 would have been far preferred. Or just anything pre-2015... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Precisely, it's a spoof photo released by LR, they wouldn't release that. 2007 90 Puma - Love it - Best car I have ever owned. 1989 Ninety 200tdi - Love it - Second best car I have ever owned. 1951 80" Series 1 - Love it - Third best car I have ever owned. |

If they'd gone ahead with this I'd have one on my drive now. As it is, the endless re-design (led to some extent by folk who've never bought a new Land Rover screaming "no!") delayed the launch to the point I gave up, and have gone from 3 JLR products on my drive to a Merc, a Volvo and a battered Freelander for offroad use. Can't see me going back as I prefer DC100 to what we appear to be getting. 54 Freelander modded for mud 2008 D3 SE 2010 90 XS SW 1978 88 Series 3 undergoing surgery with a new owner 2007 90 County Truck Cab - gone 2006 D3 SE - gone 2004 Freelander Sport - gay 1999 Disco V8 ES rotted to bits |

I think all this drip feeding is designed to stop the sudden shock and disappointment on the day.
The image without the bonnet looks like an earlier Range Rover that has been smoothed out, that and that hideous centre consol with the Fiat Multipla gear selector. Its like looking forward to a nice cup of tea then finding out it is cold. Sad. |
