I hope that they have inhibited the low tyre pressure warning alarm for when the drivers air down the tyres for sand driving otherwise the drivers will soon get cheesed off by the recurring alarms that a tyre pressure is too low! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Where did you get this novel idea?

Reversing lights are intended to allow you to see where you are going whilst reversing. There are many vehicles on the road which have absolutely no legal requirement for reversing lights at all and they are still allowed to reverse. It may be the case that in this era of catering for morons they serve a double purpose, but providing a warning is not their primary function. There is no more legal requirement (with a few exceptions, such as HGVs) to provide a warning that you are about to drive backwards than you are about to drive forwards.

Warranties are not as fragile as some on this forum seem to think. If you plug something aftermarket into you harness and the harness subsequently melts, you will have a problem. If you plug something into you harness and a wheel-bearing fails, then there is unlikely to be any question of the warranty being affected. There is, mercifully, still an element of common sense involved, and there has to be some demonstrable cause and effect for the invalidation of a warranty to be legally sustainable. You're more likely to invalidate your insurance than your warranty.

Well I’ve not yet found a vehicle with reversing lights that achieve that aim, they are universally crap at illuminating the way behind you.

I agree, but that is a problem with the design of them. It doesn't help that for decades they have been limited by law to a maximum of two lights each of 21 Watts.

Anyone for Matte Scarlett Red?
This was posted on another forum yesterday - didn’t say what the shade was other than it’s the corporate colour scheme for the owner’s business....

As I was getting tow loops and full fat mud flaps fitted by a dealership requiring rear bumper removal, I asked if they would fit the Powerful UK reversing lights at the same time. I even volunteered to pay their extortionate labour cost. They flatly refused to fit them citing warranty and said come back in 3 years time. Once the reversing lights are back in stock its DIY time though I need to get some trim tools first. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.

It's probably an easier approach to making the customer go away than simply refusing, or admitting that their insurance won't allow them to fit non-standard parts. If they drill a hole in your wing following the instructions supplied with the after-market kit, they will be liable.

Dealers were told not to do this years ago...that’s why most don’t.

Also a number of dealers don’t have the skills outside training in my opinion Mike

my dealer was great with aftermarket modifications on cars under warranty until they were taken over by Farnell now they wont have anything to do with it. My first run in was troubleshooting the Start Stop on a D4 under warranty. They called me saying they can't start their diagnosis as I had a Speed camera alarm wired in, it was literally wired into a fuse jumper which they point blank refused to unplug. I rocked up pulled the fuse and told them to crack on. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE
