I think we got to bottom of this on another thread on the another sister forum. ill try and find it I can't for the life of me remember but it made sense when we sussed it I know there are certain things that make it cut out when you get in I've done it before and its shut down but if you get in, shut the door buckle up and press the brake it lets you get it in gear I think if you miss a step it won't let you get it in drive and shuts down. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

It will be interesting to see if we start to see people getting FPNs or prosecuted as these systems become more widespread. I expect we'll get rather shirty owners who feel that "someone should have told them" if we do.

If the vehicle was really smart it would use its GPS to determine if it is on a public ROW or in a place to which the public has access and inhibit the system.
