2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Alaska White

Wipers have stopped at half way

The wipers have stopped half way up the screen, I can hear what I think is a relay clicking once when they are switched on and when switched to intermittent I think I can hear a relay clicking every few seconds. I can't hear the wiper motor running. The washers also work when the button is pressed. Can I assume that means the switch is OK, the fuse appears to be OK. Would i be able to hear the wiper motor running if it's the cable drive? Does this point to a motor fault ? It's a 2008 90 that's done 100k kms. Thanx

It could be the park switch.
But first lube the spindles and give the arms a little push whilst switched on ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Probably the spindles as said above, if you're lucky you might be able to oil them to get them working. If not get ready for cursing.

Use a bit of s longer lasting oil in there too shortly, as the WD40 will dry up but is good for freeing them up. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I use acf 50 on mine. A few drops every couple of months and you should be ok

2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Coniston Green

I had the same issue and the relief was great when good ol WD40 solved it ... BUT, I continued to repeat the process of running the wipers (pulled away from screen) and squirting liberally for a few minutes on the splines for at least 4 days to make sure the oil got down good and deep and did it s job. Each time some rusty residue came out of the splines.

Besides, i love the smell of WD40
