Horn won't work or pass light + indicator
Hi everyone, I have eventually Seen the Light and come over to a defender, we get there in the end.. if I may rattle everyone's brains on this please.. could not get the horn or flash to work on the indicator stalk, also the Repeater on the nearside wing for the indicator .. brought a new cluster fitted to the steering column went through all the fuses ending up removing the dashboard and checking all the Loom connections but still no joy, also behind the steering column below the dashboard there is a green box?... what is it?.. and would that stop me getting a live up to the horn. Desmond Defenderv ( that's his name) started his life in Cyprus for the RAF and is now came back to Good Old Blighty... but believe you me in it's life it's been got at by budgies everything is bodged.
But now landed on its wheels; once this is completed, the next topic will be waxoyl or the other rust protection and of course more secure deadlock locks indoors any thoughts or suggestions we gladly received many thanks cheers for now Tim.
P/s I'm writing this on my phone hopefully it will all make sense.

Likely either the stalk, or if multiple issues on multiple sockets common earth.

Don't discount an earthing fault as well as testing lives as both are just as important.
Use a multimeter and check for voltage and earth continuity, there should be diagrams online.
If it has been altered, manual testing will be in order.

If I was you, I would see if you can work out the horn first. Looks like the simplest circuit to trace as I believe the indicators go through the hazard switch.

The green box, does it look aftermarket? Any chance this is an additional alarm which interrupts the feeds to indicators and horn etc for when the alarm sounds?

The earth block in that the horn uses is also the same one for the headlights by the look of it, but is also shared with lots of other things. So I thought you would have noticed much more going wrong than just what you listed.

The green box will be the 10AS alarm/immobiliser unit:
