Asking as a laddo at work asked me if they were good/bad and I actually drew a blank!

My wife had one before her current D4 and it was very good. It had replaced D2 and it was much better than that in terms of refinement. Darren

I had an HSE a few cars back - loved it, couldn't fault it. Had it for 3 years and never let me down

We had an HSE Auto for a couple of years.
No issues at all on the reliability front, very nice specification and trim. Quite thirsty on short runs. For me though, it didn't have that Land Rover. magic. Just another 4x4 SUV in a crowded sector. But that is probably being unfair. |

My parents had a hse f2, very happy with it, only downside was it was expensive road tax and not as frugal as a Skoda yeti which is what they traded it in for after 4yrs of reliable motoring. They like the yeti more now than the f2

Great vehicles, very under rated. Hold their money quite well still, late HSE (lux and Metropolis especially) autos are always in demand

mate of mine had one and was great, used quite hard.
they needed a new rear diff but I believe that was due to a shunt as much as anything else. the ones I've driven I always thought were pretty good. |

Got one earlier this year for SWMBO to replace her FL1, she loves it & I have to say that when I get to drive it I am very impressed with it. Had I not got a D4 I would be more than happy to have one as an everyday driver.

Echoing the sentiments above - had two for the Fun Prevention Officer and both have been reasonably faultless...
Common issue with diff pinion bearing (second one went lame on us..) but good towing capability (albeit ‘only’ 2.5 tonnes which is enough for a horse box and 15/3 pony...) Generally diesel in one end and windscreen wash fluid in t’other and not a lot to do otherwise.... |

mrs has a 2010 se very nice loads of toys heated seats ,sat nav etc , we had the rear diff done £700 but I must say that's it ,not to bad to service your self or to get the dealer to do it not that bad .
if you go onto the freelander forum there is a chap that makes and fits the diff . |
