Was it one of the small cameras built in to what looks to be a SOS phone box or a full size camera? If the former, it's not a camera but a warning that you are speeding flash. The latter (face on or from the rear) is a camera. Either way, there's nothing to worry about as there is no agreement between UK Gov and French Gov for transfer of speeding fines taken from cameras aside from cases where the speed is so excessive it is considered to be dangerous driving and therefore a prisonable offence. If you manage that in a Def, you should get a medal. Your biggest worry should be Police/Gendarme's with hand held lasers or in chase cars/bikes, which will stop and fine you on the spot, 90€ upwards. Cameras, no need to worry, so if you've been flashed and got home to receive nothing you're safe (or weren't going fast enough ). Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

From July 1st 2018 speed limits throughout France will be lowered from 90km/h to 80km/h for secondary roads without median strips. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I wish. last time I barrelled along the motorway in the Def, just scraping French m-way limits, it led to be transmission failing. That was three weeks ago and the Def is still in Palma!! Back to 'cruising for me' autobahn or no autobahn!! Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Good thing too. Maniac rural french drivers need to be reigned in. They all grow up driving around at break-neck speed in 20 year old 106s, no wonder they constantly produce Rally World Champs like Loeb and Ogier. Got flashed once again today but I'm not going to worry about it. Doing 130 in a 130. First 400mile long trip in the landy, a bit noisy and a bit warm but no problems. Good warm up for a trip to Italy next year. Only got 20mpg though haha
