Ditto, try A-Plan Thatcham office, very good premium and good service on both my 110's. My 2012 2.2 SW isn't recognised on price comparison websites.
How you get NFU that cheap is beyond me. They wanted over £650 and that was before we talked modifications! Very disappointed with NFU. I’m NFU too, it gets cheaper every year you’re with them. I know people that have had accidents or stolen and it’s always sort the customer out first no quibble, also normally a like for like vehicle. They’ll let me add someone or change car for a few days at no extra cost too. Have to say it’s nie to talk to the same person in the local office too.

Yes. In answer to your question, it is pot luck as to whether you will get an insurance company / broker to accept that you have a 5 seat utility wagon. As the previous posts, A-Plan, NFU, Adrian Flux should have no issues. Direct Line were a shower of ****. Their commercial division recognised the vehicle, but wouldn't insure me as it was not being used for commercial purposes, but the 'car' division refused to quote as the computer said no.
If it is any use, Land Rover consider your vehicle to be a Station Wagon (albeit with less windows and seats!). I have mine insured with A-Plan (sadly, not through Thatcham Branch, but that might change) and they were more than accommodating, even with this anomaly. Good luck. You may find technology has let you down and you need to get calling and talking to people. |

Advice... watch the underwriter that your broker puts you with.
My experience of A-Plan customer service was rubbish, their ability to reply to emails was sadly lacking. Adrian Flux, on the other had, do appear to be able to use email successfully. |

The NFU branch at Alton, Hampshire, where the only people who would insure my nine seater 110 for sensible money. NFU main office wouldn't touch it.
As your in Hampshire they may be worth a call. Good luck |

I haven't claimed (touch wood) so can't comment how good A-Plan are in that respect, but the one thing that I have noticed is that they are quite old-fashioned in their approach to insurance. I use the Ipswich Branch (as they went the extra mile to sort out some discount on my policy originally when all else gave me the push off). They phone you. I know the names of the people who work there. They have a shop front in town. They are quite big on customer service. Quite old school - but they seem efficient, pleasant, and extract money from me. I have heard mixed opinions of Flux (they are also local to me - not that it means a lot). I have a Mate who swears by them. No one has ever given me a bad word about NFU, They were just horrendously expensive (four times more). In my experience it is luck of the draw. No one insurance company broker ever seems to be good for all. |

Ive been with A Plan a couple of years now and as mentioned they aren’t very good at replying to emails. I usually have to ring them afterwards to kick them up the backside about a response.
I like everything in writing when it comes to Insurance, especially modifications, so expect an email confirming everything for my records. To be fair, once I’ve reminded them I then get an emailed acknowledgment back pretty quickly. |

I have talked to those suggested above, results:
NFU £881 Adrian Flux £750 A Plan £420 A Plan have said the policy will be from KGM Insurance. Never heard of them and they get bad reviews on the internet. However A Plan recommend them!! Anyone heard of, or had experience of KGM?? Discovery 4 HSE Defender 2.2 110 USW XS Ford Kuga AWD Discovery 3 Range Rover P38 Discovery - 300 TDI Discovery - 200TDI |

These people are not your friends, they are just trying to sell you a product.
If you are not happy, ask for another quote. A-Plan are just a broker at the end of the day. My experiences of claiming with several big well known companies are that none of them like paying up, and definitely do not pay out what you would expect. I'm sure the internet has many stories of Aviva or LV or whoever scaming the unsuspecting insured. It is quite telling that Flux and NFU are similar. Some companies will discount hard in the first year to try and get your business. |

Hi Sammyboy,
I've just replied the following to you in another thread but for everyone else on here, here's some info: KGM are one of the specialist insurers we use - we are very selective about our panel of insurers and there's a reason why we don't use a few of them (not naming any names). Part of the Lloyd's syndicate they are a broker only insurer, which means the reviews are majority going to be down to the broker that dealt with the policy not KGM themselves... and this is rarely us as we are lovely if you look at aplan.co.uk on trust pilot we have 5 stars. Rashers at A-Plan we are an advised service, unlike other brokers who are non-advised, we don't just pitch you a product and leave the choice up to you, we are able to advise on what is going to suit you best for what you're using your vehicle for and advise you on the bits you don't need as well. We take our customer service very seriously here which is evident in our reviews... we can all be friends Thanks!
