While that is often the case my friend had their TD5 stolen and burned out before xmas. Their insurers paid out far more than they expected, actually more than they paid for the car 8 years earlier! This wasn't exactly a show vehicle either, it was a more or less a farm spec ex-police vehicle!

I've just renewed my insurance for my USW with Admiral and their schedule has it listed as 'DEFENDER 110 TD XS
UTILITY WAGON'. Renewal was £371 as part of a multicar policy with my wifes' D4 (which was only £345 Rolling Eyes ). Darren
