I'm sure that I've read on here that this is a consequence of high coolant temperatures and the ECU cutting boost in self preservation. I vaguely remember talk of fitting a different thermostat to relieve the problem but you'd have to do a bit of searching to find the details. Darren

Puma overheting or "ECUs prevent mode for not overheat
That's the title of a post from South America which describes your problem. I remember similar from Australia but can't find them at the moment. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic16002....e+overheat (That's another techy thing learned ) The ECU cuts power if the Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor goes out of range. The temperature gauge can read "normal" when this happens and no faults are recorded. I had the same symptoms when the radiator had a small leak. Be lucky |

2600miles in and she hasn’t lost a drop of coolant. We are in Zagora and Morocco is proving to be every bit the adventure we hoped it would be.

Update to this, lost no coolant over 5000miles. Never saw the issue in Morocco at 60mph max and no 70mph big 6th gear pulls. Once temps below 37/38 the issue has not manifested itself again over the next 2500 miles. I conclude it’s a limit by the ECU for high cylinder head/ EGT temps. Mine does have the bigger intercooler fitted. 1951 80" S1 2.0
