Urgent advice needed. Oil leak rear axle
I’am in the workshop at this very moment.

On the left is the new inner seal. On the right the old one.

On the new one there’s a grey ring which is missing on the old one. Do we take out the grey ring Or is the old one missing the grey ring? a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

Looks like the old Salisbury axle seal on the left hard to tell from the picture. Measure them and see

Size is exactely the same and very good fit a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

Update. Put only the right side in with grey ring. Hope that is Okay and i don’t have to open it up Again.

Hope that someone has an answer if the grey ring is supposed to be in there a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover
