It could be either really. If the clutch isn't fully disengaging it can have the same symptoms. Have you checked all the air is bled out of it?

I rebuilt mine, and i only have that same problem between 2-3 gear change, you may just need to adjust the spring return on the gear shifter.
If you have a climb in rpm above 2500rpm and no increase in speed, then you have a bad clutch. To check the slave in a parked position find the engaging point, where the clutch grabs, if its about the half way point you are fine. Last edited by Naf on 14th May 2018 11:00am. Edited 1 time in total |

Is it any particular gear change? Mine's makes a little crunch from 2nd - 3rd. I find moving 2nd - neutral position - slight pressure towards 4th before moving into 3rd helps
Sounds arduous but really isn't! Not saying this is the cure and will still need sorting but it will reduce further wear |

Thank you for the advice. I'll bleed the slave cylinder and adjust the spring return... if that doesn't work itstarts to look expensive!
