Yes they look great don't they, I am very interested, let me mull things over and I'll get back to you as I'm meant to be ploughing money into an LS3 conversion I've just given the go ahead on! Laughing

Cool, just give me the heads up because I’ll need to order the 37”s if you have them and because of availability that may take some time.
Oooh LS3 😍😍 Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.

The specialist carrying out the LS3 "politely" told me that he would not recommend the 35" with the power etc of the upgrade..

Surely it cant be that bad of an idea?

It will sound amazing and look even more rugged which is what I am after.

Will the handling just be stupidly terrible?? Or is there something Im missing? Confused Embarassed

Much higher drivetrain forces, especially for halfshaft etc.
That being said, depends how it's driven and that applies to all LS3 or any 2.4 or 2.2. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Hi Steve
I can understand addional strain on propshafts from a lift because of the additional angle but why would that effect the half shafts?

At the risk of going slightly off topic - but in my defence it is the OP asking the question...

It's not so much the lift but the 35" tyres with the additional torque being delivered by the engine. Having said that the torque out of a petrol motor is typically much smoother than a diesel. So as long as you're gentle it shouldn't matter. A diesel will typically have no torque, then lots. Whereas the petrol will gently ramp up.

There are upgrade you can perform obviously - replacing all the halfshafts with Ashcroft built parts is one well known way. However you will just move the weak point. Nige who runs Xcess4x4 showed me a diff that was from a competition vehicle where everything was upgraded Ashcroft stuff IIRC, pegged Ashlocker, HD everything and so on. Weak point was the bolts that held on the crown wheel, short story - every single one broke (there's 9 of them I think). Longer story - he developed the tab lock system that helps solve this particular problem.

So in summary - if you like the load pedal and big tyres then you're more likely to break something in the drive train. But there are options available - I'd highly recommend chatting to Nige, there's not much he doesn't know about the drive trains. Plus he's a loon with his right foot and a John Eales built 5.2l V8. Ed

Hi Ed
Thanks for that, I’m not a racer or go off road so nothing has catme any trouble so far. Just fitting a double carden prop tonight then I’d say 🤞 it’s all back to normal. But any issue will seek futher help. Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.
