I'm probably being really stupid here but here goes anyway.....

I used to have a Caterham with K series Rover engine (c/w ecu engine management), many owners ended up buying a new ecu - often an emerald with 3d mapping ! ?

I get the impression these were relatively easy to tune / map etc ?

would this approach not be worth exploring with the possibility of unplugging the original and doing a bit of a swap as and when necessary ie stealer time ?
