High Level Brake Light
I picked the car up 3 week ago from a Non LR dealer

I found that the High level brake light was not working - changed the bulb etc but still could not get to work. Car was in today to get the Brake contamination recall done and i asked them to look at this

I'm now being told that the rear window had been broken and replaced in the past with a non land rover one and the connecters for the HL BL are missing.

1. Can someone take any pics of the connectors that they are talking about

2. Has anyone else come across this - Can it be re wired easily

I intend speaking to the selling garage but suspect I'll be told to raffle

Any advice welcome

The connectors are probably now inside the rear door trim. Take it off and have a look inside. They are black spade connectors so are easy to connect to and then you could run a wire up each side to the brake light.
My heated rear glass has the brake light wiring in the glass like the heated rear window element but the element is broken so I had to wire direct to the high level brake light. I managed to tuck the wire in the side of the glass rubber so it is out of sight.

Land Rovers .... don't you just love them Big Cry

If you look along the bottom of the window, the connectors are like the ones used for the heated screen.
So as well as the heated screen, some additional strips are used to power the brake light.

Should be across the bottom of the screen above the rubber.
My window has three.

One live for heated screen,
One Live for break light and
One earth for it all.

You would have to remove the door card, find the unconnected wire and run a live and earth upto the break light unit if the new non LR glass dosent have the correct bits.
