Hi
hope someone might have had the same issue and resolved it. I have searched using a number of different terms but cant find a match Had to take the front interior light fitting out of the headlining for some firtling Put it back, didnt work, recalled one of the studs touching the back of the fitting and hearing a click, seems like i touched the grounded plate captive stud to the switched line from the module under the dash. Checked fuses and replaced the blown one, now the lights come on when i open the door but wont dim and go out anymore. I did see a post mentioning a programming option in the ecu but not sure why it would change or if it even applies to the tdci version All door switches checked and working, checked under dash controller, everything plugged in. Did notice the orange slate wire with a bare end, seems this is the aerial wire for the unit. is a bare end a good idea, if it touches ground wont help with reception, worth extending it to make the range better. any help greatfully received regards chris |

Are you saying that the light stays on all the time regardless of what you do with the doors, or does the light come on when you open a door and go off immediately when you close the door?
It isn't clear from your post (at least not to me) what the light is actually doing. |

Careful that the piece pictured here (or similar) hasn't bent upwards and caused a short to the 10AS telling it you want the courtesy lights on permanently:

Agentmulder, dinner for two with sculley on me (with wine)
The piece was exactly as you described, (not the first to have this issue?) The tang was not bent over to locate the track properly, now works fine. Blackwolf, yes the light stayed on with the switch in the "courtesy"middle position regardless of door position or engine running etc. rgds pme |

Oh great, my pleasure .
That picture is from my rear internal fixture, I had the issue for weeks, was about to swap out the 10AS but decided to have a last look at the wiring. Pulling it out I realised that the logic worked with the rear fixture removed. I was then lucky to be looking at it from the angle you see.. Although it appears to be a rare issue, I consider it a design fault. It didn't happen with me fiddling with lining, it just started on it's own accord with speed bumps, then hills, then permanently on. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

I had a fault similar found the door switch was intermittent.
The door switches looked to be working when tested but in operation the fault would occur. So manually pressing the switch it appeared to work but something must have been set up wrong. |

Upgrade your interior lights to Mud units and you don't have this problem.
You need sunglasses, but you don't have the always-on or always-blowing-fuses problems! |

How useful is the red illumination in real terms? I wonder if they would do a retina burning dual white one? (Or two) 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I don't often use the red, I have to admit, although there is no doubt that it doesn't affect your night vision like the white does.
