There is a lad local to me who has fitted 4 x Recaros to his dcpu
With two cubbys, one between the front & one between the rear two seats If I catch him in the near future I will ask to take a snap (I know it’s nit what you are after , but maybe inspiration) My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

That would be brilliant if you could, I may go for buckets but not sure yet!

My DCPU has the Exmoor High Backs in black leather and I wouldn't want to sit in them for long. I'm wanting to remove the middle one but at first glance it looks as though the outer seats rely on it for support

Good to know, thank you. Can put that option out 100% now. Makes you wonder why they made them like that? Haha

Ah well, you’d also wonder why Land Rover put the standard Puma rear seats in a dcpu. They are simply too large.
I’m everything but tall. My head rests on the headliner instead of the headrest and I always have the feeling I’m sitting a bit face down. Also don’t have a nice view out of the window. In my other 130 I had them replaced by a custom made seat box with the right angle and height. Put two front seats in it. Every problem solved! |

You can have a look at the complete project here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic22936.html
With the 110 dcpu you just need a slightly different seatbase. Idea will be the same. |

I already have a pair in the front and have considered a 4-seat configuration. I'd be interested as well, but actually if you could try them and see how upright they are and how much leg-room there is. There are quite a few photos of upgrades done by various bodyshops, but you never get a sense of the seat-back angle or leg space. That looks stunning. Though how did you secure the seatbox to the landy? |

Read this thread with interest. Can you clarify that no mod was made to the cabin? If so, is it the use of front seats and the new seat box that gives more leg-room/lean angle? Are rear seats thicker? Would the same extra level of comfort be achieved with Recaros if your seat box design was used? It is worth mentioning that the scope for modifying the rear seat box is more limited on a 110 than it is on a 130 due to the chassis member for the rear A-frame beneath. Hence why the 130 has storage in the seatbox and the 110 does not.

Good to know. Ta.
I'm not too fussed about extra leg-room, we don't have kids and Mrs Gren and I have little legs, so front recaros are pulled forward. But I want the rear to be co,ofrtable for up to an hour, which is about as far as we drive locally when friends pop over, and most remark how upright the current seats are. So any opportunity to add an extra bit of lean would be welcome. Hence wondering if it could be achieved with Recaros? Grenadier, that’s correct. The new seat box was designed to be fixed with the exact mounting holes from the old seat box as well. The standard rear seat is just too bulky by design. Land Rover shouldn’t have used it in the rear of a double cab if you ask me.
