Click image to enlarge Hi, @ Martin 01 Hope you managed to persuade the family that accompanying us on the trip is a good idea! @ Keith5 We will be assembling at the campsite on the Saturday Morning at around 0830am- We will then have a convoy drive of around 15-20 mins to meet Ian depending on which route we use to get into the Ardverikie Estate. I still have 2 spaces remaining on the 12/13th May which I am very keen to fill if anyone has friends or relatives who would like to join us? Click image to enlarge Best Regards Chris |

Hi All,
I have spoken to Invernahavon this afternoon regarding the camping. They are planning to cordon off an area for us towards the bottom of the campsite (for those of you who came last time it will be the same area, or the one next to the one we used last times). If anyone arrives before me on the Friday we will be in the coned off area. I plan to get to the site mid afternoon on the Friday- I need to meet up with Ian and finalise the plan for the two days. I'm really looking forward to seeing folk again from last time and hopefully seeing some new faces! Best Regards Chris |

I hope to get there before dark! It's a 5-hour marathon for me, and I'll struggle to get away much before 4pm... Please keep a flat spot for me!
See you then - looking forwards to it Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Well we got everything put back together and even passed the MOT with only one minor!
Here’s hoping we’ll be ready in time to make the trip! |

Chris,
I called them the other day to book the Fri & Sun. I mentioned I was with you on the trip but I think they've allocated me a pitch in the main camping area. You should be up there before me and easy to spot so I'll try and catch you before I go in to the office. New ATs went on today so I think that's the final prep (other than removing the towball assembly after Scout camp) Keith |

Me too, I would like to be up the Friday before dark (Mrs P allowing a smooth departure) Would have liked to offer a touch of hospitality and a rest stop at the showroom like the last time But I kinda resigned last month and finished up there yesterday Onwards & upwards they say ................ Looking forward to this more than I expected My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

Does anyone know if there are any spaces left on the 12-13th? I can find it on their site as says unavailable, so assume it is full? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
There was still 2 spaces last night but there is an issue with the booking system currently. If you email ian@highlndallterrain.co.uk and let him know you want to book he can process the booking manually. If you have any issues give me a call on 07824396180 Chris |

Many thanks for the reply. I haven’t done a day like this before and just recently got my Defender. Is this suitable for beginners? Done off-roading with my previous Navara but nothing serious. Still need to convince the other half this is a good idea

Hi,
No problem for beginners at all. The trips are not headbanging hardcore off road routes- they are moderate difficulty with a few more challenging sections that can generally be avoided if you don't fancy them. Anything that is more challenging- generally myself or Ian will be on hand to guide you through to ensure you are safe and to avoid any damage. The most difficult sections are generally just because it can be quite tight threading through trees depending on which routes we use (those guys who were with us at Alvie 2 years ago I'm sure would agree ) Have a look at the thread from last year- there is some fantastic pictures that show the type of tracks and terrain we will be on. As I said, if you have any questions feel free to give me a call. Chris |

Many thanks Chris, I will go and see if I can find the video you are talking about
Co-incidentally I think I have been messaging Ian trying to arrange something for myself, not realizing you guys were planning this trip (I am new here). Fingers crossed I can get a space, and will hopefully confirm things up today. Cheers |
