Puma live feed?
Afternoon all,

Ive recently ran a cable from the rear tub down the grommet by the drivers rear light, across crossmenber, along chassis and into the battery box.

It follows landrovers main loom and is in a conduit. The plan was to feed a mini fuse board in the rear without drilling the tub or roof.

So all was good until i went to connect to the battery and it wont let me??? The terminals must be anti diy!!

I have enough slack left in the cable to make it to the main board under the drivers seat but still cant find where to pick up live and earth??

Any pointers?

Regards tom

Under the plastic cap on the positive battery terminal should be two threaded holes to screw extra wiring to?

It's how the (for example) tow electrics are wired to the battery.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

The 8mm nuts on the terminals are designed not to come off so they wont allow me to place ring terminal over and then nut back on.

Positive has a tapped hole on the block but negative has nothing.

I thought of sliding a spade under the nut but its like a cone shape stopping me also.

That nut isn't designed to fit a ring to as it's for the clamp.

For the negative, use a good chassis ground. The tow electrics use a stud below the grommets on the seat box:

martin,

Thankyou for your time mate.

I shall t off to that earth and it should be sorted!

Ill put a photo up anyway just to show others what i was on about.

You know it would be lovely if landrover had a live loop throughout a defender with points every now and then so you could wire accessories. I dont envy guys in the auto electrical game trying to run wires all day and making stuff look neat
