If you do any stretches of A road driving at normal speeds you'll be ok. I live around Leicester and do the same stop/start driving into town in the defender and never seen the light in 50k miles.
I'd only worry if the engine never got up to temperature at all and the trips were that short. |

Thanks for that 110 very amusing and informative especially about other problems ie split hoses that could also cause a problem.
