Defender front seats options
I have the half leather heated XS seats but would like to upgrade to a more comfortable seat ,I like the look of the Exmoor Elite sport seats but having dealt with Exmoor before and ended up with just a refund would like to go some where more reliable. The LRI Corbeau seats look good but are off set towards the hand brake which must mean more arm room and les leg room ! So looking though here I have seen offing's from FCX and Urban Truck which look to do complete interior's is there any member's who have got the seats that I would like, if so please put up picture and let me know how comfortable they are .

I recently fitted a set of low base Corbeaus (bought them from TMD, they are currently £795 including the adapters).
http://tmdtuning.com/shop/corbeau-rrs-seats/

More comfortable than the originals and no issues with the positioning of them / the handbrake.

Assuming your existing seats are in good nick you should be able to get £400 for them as well making them a relatively cheap upgrade.

HAve a look at OEM Developments or better still give Phil Bahfir a call to see what options he can do for you. He does a conversion kit to convert the XS seats to the style on the last Defenders (with integral headrests, don't know what they're called). Might be an option. Can't comment on comfort.

Deep pockets then best option... Genuine LR Recaro's, heated with removable bases. Corbeau's cheaper option but bases not removable, so have to unbolt the seat to access seat boxes, might not be a problem?

LRI were doing a promotion on interior kits?

FCX no longer do LR interiors, unfortunately. James

Well if you're not particularly tall (say under 6ft) then a set of seats from an L322 fit with a little fettling Razz

They are extremely comfortable. Ed

Thanks for the comments ,I looked on the TMD web site and there are no heated options ,one of the lads on here has the conversion kits which look very nice but still a defender seat from about half way down the back rest I would also want the Exmoor longer seat base to with the kit ,as for the L322 seats I have had a couple of Range Rover and both were very comfortable and both had to have new heaters fitted in the seats, new piping to the edges and one had new electric motor fitted for the base adjustment ,the L322 is one of the best cars I have ever owned but cost me a arm and a leg to keep on the road which is why I now drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee sorry ,any way back to seats ,and as for deep pockets the nongenuine Recaro's are over £3,000 I did try one out that was at CSK again lovely seat and well suited to the 90 the cost is just off putting.

I didn't mean swap for L322. I've got a set of L322 seats from a 2004MY in my 300Tdi 110.

Coincidentally also have a set of L322 seats in my 2007MY TDV8 L322 Laughing

I would think as about as comfortable as you could get, looks a bit tight to the steering wheel or is it just the angle.

It can be quite tight depending on how you have the seat. Just right for me but a little tight. I had to remove one of the motor mounts to drop the front a bit.

Its largely been to prove a point so far but they do fit and they're much more comfortable. Now that I've proven the point I think I'm going to rip out the seat box and fabricate a lower one. Main issue has been loss of access underneath. With the lower one I'll make it flat rather than tilted and reinstate the bottom motor mount.

Put it this way in a rattly old underpowered (compared to the 3.6) 300Tdi I think nothing of jumping in it and driving through France or up to the Highlands. Ed

Is that Each for 795??? I assume you have to take the whole seat out for access to batteries and fuses?

No that is for the pair along with the bases.
I actually bought them on black Friday and got another 10% off that price Smile.

Yep it's 4 bolts to get the seats out to the battery box. I've run an Anderson connector through however in case I need to jump start anyone.
