Raised fixed wheel carrier for when using Nato htch
Hello
I'm away in a few weeks and taking the sankey with nato hitch.
I do find it awkward hooking up sometimes as the spare wheel is tight...
This wheel carrier is designed for larger tires and with my std wheels will raise the tire 40 to 50mm
Anyone use it? are they easy to swap? just unbolt and bolt on? pricey at £78 but if it helps?
Thanks

If you're handy with an angle grinder and a welder, why not just cut off the front "face" of a standard carrier, raise it by 50 or so cm, then glue it back in with the hot gun.
Then the angled section that is now sticking out of the bottom of where the carrier used to sit, cut those off at an angle then weld them back on the top to give some strength back to the bracket.

I have a Mantec on mine and every time I tow the Penman have to take the spare wheel off due to the same issue, particularly as my hitch is on the x-member, so much so that I am strongly considering permanently locating the spare on the boot floor and doing away with the rattly carrier entirely.
Both suggestions however look good and would seem to certainly solve the problem - might give them a go instead.
