I've just picked one of these up but have a couple of things to figure out, both around venting, and wondered if anyone else had fitted one.
1 - What looks like the vent plug is by the -ve terminal, on the other side of the battery. Is there a good place to get a longer vent tube or is it worth just drilling another hole in the bottom of the battery box? 2 - Before I even get there -- the Yuasa spec sheet says this is end venting rather than using the usual vent plugs*. Does anyone know what that implies for venting through a tube? http://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs-bla...ar-battery (* more specifically it's: "There are now several batteries in the range that have end-venting, rather than the normal venting through the individual vent-plugs. A β’ in this column shows that the battery is fitted with end-venting at the negative end. The battery is fitted with a gassing outlet according to EN60095-2 + EN50342.2 2007 item 5.5.3 and Figure 10 to allow remote venting of the battery.") 2009 110 XS Station Wagon |

The battery box is a long way from air tight. I wouldn't worry about it. Darren

Don't quite new but I think there is a drain hole / vent in the bottom.
But a proper external vent is best. Gasses are explosive and highly dangerous so I would be careful. Chillin In The Backwoodsπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

I did look at the box and think it looked a bit swiss cheese anyway -- suspect it gets a decent airflow at the best of times
![]() If it's water breaking down it's likely to be hydrogen and oxygen I'd guess? Thanks all! 2009 110 XS Station Wagon |
